Rea Kapur is a Bay Area stand-up comedian, writer, filmmaker, and producer whose brutally honest comedy tackles mental health, identity, relationships, and the beautiful chaos of being a queer South Asian woman. A rapidly rising voice in the Bay Area comedy scene, Rea has hosted and featured for Maria Bamford at the San Jose Improv and has also featured for Tommy Tiernan and DeAnne Smith. She has performed on acclaimed showcases including Mental Health Comedy Hour, Crazy Funny Asians, and Comedy Oakland, and co-created Perversity, Equity & Inclusion, an award-winning production that sold out all three of its performances at the 2024 San Francisco Fringe Festival and was selected for Best of SF Fringe. With quick wit, fearless vulnerability, and a passion for breaking down stigma through laughter, Rea delivers comedy that is as thought-provoking as it is hilarious.
